Joy Arnold knows how meaningful it can be

Getting your Trinity Audio player ready...

Dear Friends,

Joy took part in a Board Governance BootCamp in May that Capacity Canada held in St. John’s, NL, with Community Sector Council Newfoundland and Labrador as a local partner. She is vice-chair of the Newfoundland and Labrador Foster Families Association, and a long-foster parent herself.

The BootCamp was an eye-opener. “I was just amazed at the information that was given to us,” she says. “As I soaked it in, it became clear all that’s involved in governance — more so than I ever imagined.” When her BootCamp cohort reconvened for graduation in October, Joy took home top prize for making the most progress on CapacityGo, Capacity Canada’s e-learning app to reinforce the principles of good governance.

This is the sort of difference Capacity Canada makes in the lives of charitable non-profit organizations, large and small. This is why your support matters so much. Visit our donation page for an option that suits you.

Give them the right tools, plus access to outstanding experts who deeply care about the sector, and these organizations become more confident, more innovative problem-solvers. Joy says she applies what she learned at the BootCamp about risk management, strategic thinking and collaboration to a range of other decisions she makes in her life.

Capacity Canada believes training and development is as important in the non-profit sector as it is in the for-profit sector. Better skills, smarter choices, wiser use of limited resources. Everybody wins, thanks to you.

Which is why we are saying thanks for keeping us in mind this holiday season. Your donation powers change every day.

All the best,
