DeafBlind Ontario Foundation


DeafBlind Ontario Foundation is looking for dedicated volunteers to join our Board of Directors, with a term start date of June 2024.  We are looking to identify incoming board members by February 2024.

DeafBlind Ontario Foundation raises, invests and directs funds to DeafBlind Ontario Services to enhance programs which support the individuals they serve through philanthropic activities, building relationships and raising awareness. The role of the Board of Directors is to govern and oversee the affairs of the Foundation.

DeafBlind Ontario Services provides an array of services to people who are Deaf, hard of hearing, non-verbal and deafblind that are customized to each individual’s unique needs, method of communication, and goals to enrich their life.  Their reach extends into remote communities and urban centres across the province with supported living homes and customized community services.

Do You Have?

  • Demonstrated history of philanthropy
  • A willingness to be a resource in raising funds and awareness
  • An understanding of the importance of relationship building
  • Experience in governance, fundraising, strategic planning or marketing

Time Commitment

Up to 6 Board meetings per year (virtual).

Board members may be asked to attend donor meetings or additional Board meetings, for example, when specific topics require in-depth discussion, strategic planning or for training and development opportunities.

Terms are three (3) year with a maximum of two (2) consecutive terms.
