West Park Healthcare Centre Foundation is seeking new Board and Committee members

If you can do these simple activities, you’re fortunate. For people who have experienced severe illness or injury, the activities we take for granted can be big challenges. Life as they know it has changed. They must fight to get their lives back, mustering immense courage, spirit and determination. They deserve the best care and support on that difficult journey.

UHN’S WEST PARK HEALTHCARE CENTRE That’s where we shine. UHN’s West Park is a nationally recognized speciality hospital in rehabilitation and complex care. We are the largest respirology and amputation programs in Canada and help with stroke and joint replacement recovery and complex care for diseases like MS and ALS. We are centres of excellence for Long- term ventilation, tuberculosis, acquired brain injuries, spasticity and more.

This past year at West Park has been the most significant since our founding in 1904. As we celebrated 120 years of helping patients get their lives back, we marked two major milestones in April 2024 – a new, modern hospital facility and a new hospital family with UHN – both will have an impact on our patients, and the healthcare system, for decades to come.

WE ARE BUILDING a $1.2 billion new, world-class hospital including outdoor therapy spaces to support the physical, emotional and spiritual needs of our patients on their recovery journey.

WE ARE INTEGRATING WITH UHN as the fifth hospital in the University Health Network (UHN)

… Canada’s #1 hospital. As part of UHN, West Park is able to offer our patients enhanced health care services, invest in more research to improve care, and expand our education of the next generation of medical professionals.

WHAT’S NEXT We are renovating our legacy building to add 188 beds to the health system, completing our outdoor therapy spaces, investing in research, educating new medical students, and planning to build an additional 256 bed facility.

WE ARE WEST PARK FOUNDATION. We are one of three Foundations under the UHN umbrella. Our Foundation mission is to support innovative methods of treatment, leading-edge research, and excellence in patient care at UHN’s West Park campus.

WE ARE IN AN $80 MILLION CAMPAIGN West Park Foundation is the official funding arm of UHN’s West Park Healthcare Centre. We’re in the final years of a capital campaign to support the new hospital building, expand our health care services and outdoor therapeutic grounds. The hospital is depending on the success of our capital campaign to finish equipping our new building and supporting the expansion of health care services.

OUR BOARD AND COMMITTEES are made up of entrepreneurs, lawyers, accountants, and financial services, marketing and business professionals, and grateful patient families.

IF YOU ARE INTERESTED in supporting our efforts to raise funds, have skills in the areas of legal, governance, marketing, human resources (particularly in performance management), or change management, and are willing to make West Park one of your top three charities, we’d like you to be part of our team.
