Why Join the Board of Food Banks Mississauga?

As a member of this board, you will have the opportunity to utilize your full range of intellectual and professional capabilities to help make a difference in food insecurity throughout this city. Exceptional board service enables you to bring your emotional connection to the work, your philanthropic dedication, your life experiences, your knowledge, skills, and sound judgment to the organization. Food Banks Mississauga (FBM) aims to expand its Board of Directors with a focus on supporting the fundraising efforts of the organization.

Board members are the fiduciaries who steer Food Banks Mississauga towards a sustainable future by adopting sound ethical and legal governance and financial management policies, as well as by making sure Food Banks Mississauga has adequate resources to advance its mission.  Board members also contribute to the organization’s culture, strategic focus, effectiveness, and financial sustainability, as well as serving as ambassadors and advocates.

As a strategic governance Board, each director’s primary focus is to make this city food secure.  It provides board members with the opportunity to give where they live, work and play. It is an action-oriented Board and welcomes those wanting to actively support this cause through good governance, strategy, oversight, accountability and fundraising.
