Capacity Canada launches program for new non-profit CEOs and EDs

Capacity Canada, with the generous support of the Lyle S. Hallman Foundation, has launched a new coaching and development program to support newly-appointed CEOs and Executive Directors of non-profit organizations. The coaching program is completed in four phases spread over three to four months! It can be tailored to meet the needs and experience level of the new organizational leader.

“In these increasingly complex times where all stakeholder relationship building is so critical to success, we should no longer assume a new CEO/Ed can just step in and start leading,” says Fred Galloway, Executive-In-Residence, Capacity Canada. “Boards and their organizations will be well served by facilitating the availability of a well-designed onboarding program like the one offered by Capacity Canada. This will provide their new CEO/ED with an enhanced opportunity to successfully achieve their aspirations and the goals and Mission of the organization.”

With years of experience working with new CEOs/EDs, often from outside the organization, this Capacity Canada program has evolved with time. The new program is beneficial to individuals who are first-time CEOs or EDs and have needed help achieving effective onboarding. The program gives access to a step-by-step framework based on best practices and the skill set necessary to activate their new role as the senior staff leader successfully.

The Coaching Program is a support and development program. Boards or new CEOs/EDs may initiate the program to enhance their successful start-up within their new organization.

It covers four phases over several months, focusing on specific internal and external activities that will assist the new leader in engaging with the Board, staff and volunteer teams, partners, funders, and others. It is designed to facilitate a progressive, planned-entry approach built on developing a sound knowledge and understanding of the organization, its operating environment, its governance model and processes, and other features essential in building strong working relationships with all stakeholders as a foundation for organizational and leader success.

Capacity Canada cannot thank the Lyle S. Hallman Foundation enough for their ongoing support and the resources they have provided to make this program successful!
