Capacity Canada’s MatchBoard program pairs employees with non-profit boards of directors that align with their interests, skills and expertise. Through the MatchBoard program, Capacity Canada assists in placing employees on non-profit boards across Canada so that they can enhance their learning and become more involved in their community.
There are over 170,000 charitable and non-profit organizations in Canada. There are over two million employees and 13 million volunteers within the non-profit sector in Canada.
By pairing employees with boards that match their interests and skillset, employees can gain new, valuable skills to bring back to their workplace while also contributing to their community. An Executive in Residence (EIR) from Capacity Canada works closely with the employee to find a suitable board and continues to support them while helping the employee gain acceptance to their ideal board.
The EIR organizes one-on-one meetings with each employee to ensure the employee gets a personalized experience and can cover any topics of concern that they may have. Capacity Canada provides ongoing support and education to the employee throughout their term on their non-profit board that they have been matched with.
The program is sponsored by the individual’s employer. Capacity Canada works with multinational organizations such as Manulife, EY and Google to help place employees on hundreds of boards across Canada.
