Board Member Responsibilities

As a member of the Board of Directors, you will play a vital role in advancing FEW’s mission. Each board member is expected to:

• Understand the organization’s mission, policies, programs, and needs.
• Serve as an active advocate and ambassador for FEW.
• Help identify and secure financial resources and partnerships to advance our mission.
• Leverage personal and professional networks to enhance FEW’s fundraising, reputation, and policy influence.
• Prepare for, attend, and actively participate in board meetings.
• Participate in at least one board committee.
• Follow the organization’s bylaws, policies, and board resolutions.
• Maintain confidentiality

Expectations

•  Attend and participate in monthly board meetings. Hosted online via zoom with two hosted in-person. Flexibility for online access.
• Attend and participate in committee meetings. Hosted online via zoom.
• Contribute to grant, fundraising, and or governance efforts.

 Location: Kitchener, Waterloo, & Cambridge
