Strategic Learning for Greater Impact

The Social Profit sector in Wood Buffalo has been working hard to build organizational capacity to enable greater impact and mission achievement.  Over the past few years, Social Prosperity Wood Buffalo and its partners have supported this goal by offering initiatives like the Accreditation Preparation Workshop Series and the annual Capacity Assessment Survey.

On Wednesday, June 4th, we invite Wood Buffalo Executive Directors and senior management to attend an interactive workshop that focuses on how to use information and relevant data to inform decision making and planning.  The workshop will draw on the results of a sector capacity assessment survey to help social profit organizations assess their own capacity for impact. As well, the workshop will coach participants through a process of clarifying ways to deepen their impact. The workshop will introduce a new concept that shows participants how to integrate learning into the strategy cycle.  Drawing on the concepts and tools of strategic learning, participants will come away with a new tool and a preliminary plan for building their internal capacity as well as strategies for greater achievement of their missions.

Copies of the 2014 Capacity Assessment Survey will be available at the workshop.  Participants who complete the survey either before or at the event will be eligible to win an Apple ipad!  There will be time at the end of the workshop to work on the survey, but participants are encouraged to take the survey beforehand:http://fluidsurveys.com/s/2014CapacityAssessment/

The workshop will be co-facilitated by Tanya Darisi, Director of the O’Halloran Group and evaluator of Social Prosperity Wood Buffalo, and Manny Makia, Chief Social Innovator, FuseSocial.

Please join us for this interactive and practical learning event.
