Accreditation Preparation Workshop Series, 2012-2013

From September 2012 to March 2013, Social Prosperity Wood Buffalo (SPWB) delivered a series of five workshops designed to help nonprofits and charities in Wood Buffalo to apply for accreditation through Imagine Canada’s new Standards Program.  Each workshop corresponded to one section of the Standards, and provided an opportunity for organizations to work on their online applications and to receive support and coaching from their peers and expert facilitators.  A SPWB Accreditation Preparation Workbook accompanied each of the five workshops and included tools, resources, and samples to help organizations come into compliance with the standards.

Accreditation builds the capacity of nonprofits and charities by encouraging them to develop strong policies and processes that contribute to increased organizational resilience and impact.  Becoming accredited throughImagine Canada’s Standards Program demonstrates to funders and community members that an organization is meeting national standards of excellence.
