CD4SG boosting social good nationwide

WATERLOO REGION – Oct. 16, 2018 – A new day has arrived to promote social good across Canada.

Capacity Canada, in partnership with Conestoga College, Alchemy Systems, Him & Her, Manulife, and the local creative community, will provide free design and marketing work to 21 non-profit organizations across Canada through Creative Day for Social Good (CD4SG).

CD4SG will see 21 teams of Conestoga graphic design students and public relations students partnering with art directors, writers, account managers and other creative professionals in a 24-hour creative ‘blitz’ beginning at 9 a.m. on Thursday, Oct. 18.

Approximately 150 creative professionals working at two sites will donate their talents to assist these non-profits from British Columbia to Newfoundland in making a bigger impact in the communities they serve. Five creative teams will be hosted at the Kitchener offices of the design firm Him & Her (305 King St. W. #400), with the remaining teams meeting at Alchemy Systems in Guelph.

The non-profits will see the fruits of the teams’ labour, which may include new identity designs, marketing materials, or even new websites and videos, unveiled to them on Friday, Oct. 19, at Alchemy Systems (546 Governors Rd.) in Guelph starting at 8:30 a.m.

Last year, the event received 50 applications for 18 positions from non-profits nationwide. The creative services provided for these organizations totaled more than $100,000 of pro bono work. This year, more than 100 applications were received for 21 available spots which organizers hope will result in an even bigger social impact for Canada’s non-profit community.
