Capacity Canada marked an important milestone by successfully hosting its Annual General Meeting (AGM) on Friday, April 24. The AGM brought together board and staff members, along with community stakeholders, to reflect on Capacity Canada’s progress over the past year and to formally release Capacity Canada’s Annual Report. The report highlights key achievements, including programming, strengthened partnerships, and continued efforts to build capacity within the Nonprofit sector.
“I am thrilled to have our team members join from all around the world for this special day,” said Cathy Brothers, CEO, Capacity Canada. “Our AGM is an opportunity to recognize the collective impact of our partners, clients and community. This past year, we have seen real momentum in strengthening governance, advancing equity, and equipping Nonprofit leaders with the tools they need to navigate an increasingly complex environment.”
The AGM was followed by the Generosity Summit, an engaging, forward-looking conference focused on the evolving landscape of giving and community impact. The Summit featured keynote speaker Will Guidera, a renowned restaurateur and author of Unreasonable Hospitality.
Will, alongside insights from Capacity Canada’s Executive-in-Residence, Sue Radwan, explored themes of innovation, equity, and sustainability in philanthropy, encouraging participants to think critically about how generosity and kindness can be mobilized to address complex social challenges.
The Summit provided a meaningful platform for learning, reflection, and connection.
By convening leaders across sectors, Capacity Canada continues to foster dialogue and collaboration that strengthen the broader Nonprofit ecosystem, while remaining focused on deepening its impact, fostering innovation, and supporting organizations across Canada and beyond to build stronger, more resilient communities.
