Capacity Canada’s annual CreateAthon project usually helps charitable not-for-profits in Waterloo Region and Wellington County. We shifted focus this year to Fort McMurray, Alta. As it turned the lives of about 80,000 people upside down, the wildfire that swept through that city last May also devastated organizations that bind Fort McMurray together as a community.
CreateAthons around the world provide not-for-profit groups with free branding services, such as logos and concepts for better websites. Capacity’s version combines the expertise of Alchemy Systems — a design firm in Guelph, Ont. — with the tireless energy of graphic-design students studying at Conestoga College in Kitchener.
Their work Oct. 20-21 provided more than $100,000 worth of new marketing tools to 12 not-for-profit organizations in Fort McMurray. Profile is one less thing these groups have to worry about as they concentrate resources on frontline activities driving the recovery.
Your support for Capacity Canada has a multiplier effect. It enables Capacity Canada to work with local partners across the country to ensure our programs, from governance boot camps to marketing CreateAthons, have the greatest reach.
We call it social impact, but it starts with you. Thanks for being a catalyst for change close to home and far away.
Warmest wishes this holiday season,
