EvalU Stratford: A BootCamp for innovators

Capacity Canada’s EvalU BootCamp pulls into Stratford Oct., 25-26. Here are five reasons why your organization should be there.

1) Pain relief. Evaluation needn’t be — shouldn’t be — a mad paper chase to produce a bunch of numbers on the anniversary of a program. EvalU sees evaluation as a feature of the workplace culture, always running in the background, so organizations know how well their programs are doing and can quickly innovate to deal with new challenges.

2) Outstanding coaching. You’ll meet:

• Catherine Lang, who brings more than 30 years’ experience in management and consulting in the charitable not-for-profit sector. She is a registered evaluation coach with Innoweave, a Canadian organization that helps builds strong organizations like yours.

• Julie Witmer, who has coached government and non-government organizations on “evaluative thinking” for more than 15 years. She presents evaluation as a learning and development opportunity.

3) High energy. It’s a BootCamp. Prepare for table work that shakes the rust out and gets your organization’s heart rate up. People don’t come to EvalU to have conventional approaches affirmed. They expect to be challenged by new ideas and bold ways of doing things.

4) Network-building. Our BootCamps bring together small and large organizations, covering a diverse range of community needs. This is your class. Use it to share information about evaluation, and get feedback on your evaluation projects.

5) Great host. Governance, leadership, evaluation — these are areas of expertise for Capacity Canada. This is our space. We’re passionately committed to helping charitable not-for-profits grow and greet change with courage, strength and resiliency.

The event takes place at the Best Western Plus Arden Place Hotel, starting at 8:30 a.m. Oct. 25. For more information, visit this page.
