Lionel Laroche’s message to a group of board directors (and potential candidates) was clear when he spoke at a Capacity Canada event in October. Successful non-profits in the charitable sector run towards change, not away from it, and they adapt.
In this case, he was talking about diversity; about how our understanding of things widens when we move from the shelter of our respective cultural norms to that vastly creative common ground in the middle. It takes a willingness to venture into the unknown and take chances.
